Door Knocking with Jan 10/16/2026

Walt and I brought Jan this time to help her with her adoptees in her neighborhood and had a great time with the Super Intelligent Lists. She was able to talk with her Repub neighbors on her street and then go around the block to people she didn’t know and eventually to other streets a few blocks away. She had a wonderful time being the people person she is.
The list had selected out those who were sure to vote but go remind them and give them a cheat sheet for those neighbors. It also had independents who could be persuaded to vote and open to voting for Drazan and the Repub cheat sheet. What was a bit surprising was the fear of voters out there who are hesitant to talk until they know they are with friendly volunteers. They really don’t want to talk to crazy Dims.
They came back to the car from one house saying the lady would not talk until she was sure they were Repubs and a friendly face. This is something you really would not see a decade ago but the nastiness you see from the Trump haters is nothing most people do not want to tangle with. Once she was over that she would not stop talking and enjoyed talking to someone who thought the same way she did.
With independents I use the Forests for Oregon approach and then mention we are trying to bring a new Governor for the first time in forty years. That usually lets them know what side of the fence we are coming from, and they are happy to take the cheat sheet. There is a building anticipation as the ballots have been mailed and people have been notified of that and waiting for them to arrive. I would expect those are ones wanting to dump Kotax.
One guy I knocked on was an independent and looked real serious and asked how I got his name. Thinking he was accusing of hacking his information by the sternness I said we were making sure he was voting and then he said, Go Ducks and started laughing. I told him he got me and we had a good laugh at my expense. He said he was voting for Drazan and would get the ballot in quickly.
Saturday Washington County is having a big door knocking in Tigard and Kim will give the details of where to meet. It will go from 11-1 and may go slightly after with a couple of the local candidates knocking with us as we go through the neighborhoods. This will be a fun event, and we will have ice cream after. Come and be ready to help get Christine over the finish line. If you cannot make it there are knockings all over the state for Christine as you can see.
You need to tell everyone you know or call to get out and vote so she can put Kotax away and get some of the downvote candidates elected too. This is your God given right to vote and millions have died for that gift, knocking a few doors is a small price to pay compared to the price they did.
