Saturday Door Knocking 10/19/2026
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Saturday door knocking was so much fun as around ten people came out with a couple of them with very little experience knocking doors. One young lady had not knocked doors since she was a small kid with her mom knocking for Reagan. She was pretty anxious about this making up nightmares in her mind that were not going to happen.
Nancy was axing how to handle different arguments with people about abortion and things when I told her she will not have those questions from these lists. We simply reassured her that none of the people she will be talking to are hardcore abortionists or radical Dims but mostly solid Repubs and some Independents who lean our way.
We took off in 4 cars and did our lists. The downside is the lists were not well laid out for going from one street to the other and some streets only had a couple doors which made for more driving. This is being fixed and hopefully will have that issue taken care of before we go out next time.
My partner Steve and I had a great time passing out cheat sheets and being thanked for making it easy for them to fill out their ballots. Everyone said they were voting for Drazan and were excited to make a change at Governor. It is an easy sell with her Gas Tax bill and companies leaving Oregon in droves.
When we finished and were going over the responses at Baskin and Robbins, Nancy said she had the time of her life and could do this all day. She found a couple who were indis who were going to vote for Kotax and after a fifteen-minute conversation not only did they want to vote for Nancy, she had them agree to vote for Christine.
She also wanted us to put some signs up on her property, so she just became a major cog in our GOTV system. What fun.
We are going out every night this week and will go for a full day on Saturday to really cover WashCo and get some people elected. Anyone who wants to make a difference and have a blast doing it come out whenever you can for an hour or whatever.
