As loud as everyone in the country is trying to claim Communist Football or as America calls it soccer, was the Second Coming it laid a big goose egg. You go six months determining who the best two teams in the world are with more hype than the Super Bowl and you cannot score a single point in an hour and a half or however long that bore fest goes and you are pretending to be excited about it? Sorry, there is a paint drying competition going on in Hungry which sounds far more interesting.
Then you got all those soccer experts telling you how this game was a defensive gem and how it was like a pitcher’s duel in baseball but a pitchers duel is like going to Six Flags compared to watch a bunch of guys kicking a ball for two hours without scoring. It simply played into the hands to the first-time millions of Americans watched it is by miles the most boring sport ever invented.
It is the most watched sport in the world since anyone who can walk or run can play it and be pretty good since there is no hand eye coordination. You simply have to run very fast in short bursts for an hour and kick the ball really hard. Any kid who can walk can do that and since it takes zero athletic ability everyone can play it and if you dedicate your life to it will be one of the best in the turd world village you grew up in.
The push is on for America to win the World Cup like it is in the league of winning the Super Bowl or National Championship in some real sports where hands and arms are used. Can you really compare American FB to this sissified version of hockey? It is the most popular game in the world since most of the world lives in abject poverty and all you need to play is something resembling a ball and four sticks to mark the goals, game on! The perfect game for communism and there won’t be orange slices after the game unless you don’t mind a little rot.
Then of course you have the rules which nobody really know. What is offsides and why can’t you pass it forward in front of the goal for fear of scoring and making the game exciting. You can get a Red Card for making it watchable. How they determine which bump is a foul and which is not when the player flops on both plays? It makes pass interference calls seem obvious.
As a sports fan there is absolutely no chance of watching Communist Football and look forward to missing the next World Cup whenever and wherever it is. Unless they make the net the full width of the field or eliminate the goalie so someone can actually score points they highlighted its lack of excitement when nobody could score for an entire game. Don’t know how the finally scored and don’t care it was a 0-0 game which explained why it will never catch on in America as long as this country is free with its incredible wealth and diversity of sports.
All the fans went home and shared with the world how incredible America is with or without soccer. They were in disbelief of the abundance in the stores, restaurants, and friendliness. They learned of what private enterprise can bring to a town and country as they explored the highways and byways of America.
Most of Europe is dull and grey like Russia with varying degrees of minimal choices in stores and restaurants living in basic poverty. They fell in love with multiple soft drinks, ice in abundance, and AC in stadiums and stores. It is incredible when you have forgotten how rare a country like America is throughout history and become accustomed to its capitalism.
Seeing America from European eyes who all the elites and academia want to copy and have no idea of what they already have. They spend their time denigrating the very things these Europeans wished they had and would trade countries in half a heartbeat.
This was an eye opener to everyone in America except the elites and academia. They were too enthralled with the 0-0 tie to appreciate their own country and a lifestyle only the wealthiest European enjoys when he comes to America to be an Ameican.
