The Boregonian has its first fake poll for the Governor and rambled on about how Tiny Kotax is in good shape for winning a second term. It showed her head-to-head against their expected Repubs Drazen, Dudley, and Diehl, leading around 40 vs 45%. Interestingly, Diehl was 37-43% which asks if he is getting a couple of percent of Dems due to the Stop the Gas Tax petition?
A more objective viewer would see someone being reelected under fifty as a candidate in trouble. Since there will not be another spoiler candidate like Betsy Ross this time, where is she going to get another 5% to win. All of the Repubs are at the bottom of their percentages with nothing but negative media, it seems very reasonable they can all reach another 10%.
In the end it will be all about turnout and which candidate can excite MAGA to do the work which needs to be done to GOTV. If the Repubs can turnout the half of the Conservative voters who never vote they can easily overcome a five percent lead. Everyone knows who Kotax is and is not going to get anyone saying they are switching their votes to her, but plenty of NAVs needing a reason to vote for someone speaking for them.
The Boregonian did not run Danielle or David since nobody knows who they are, but they would have gotten very similar numbers. It is likely a vote for or against Kotax and her high taxes and extreme homosexuality policies they are voting against. Any candidate is tied or slightly ahead at this time since the Democrat Gazette likely cooked the books like they always do for DNCCC fundraising.
Fundraising will not be as easy for the Dims this time as Trump has closed half of their laundries coming from DC. Even the teachers unions will have a tough go as they have lost the NEA funds since the department has been closed. You can bet that 45% is giving the Oregon Communist Party headaches they have not had in forty years. All they have to offer is Trump is Hitler which does not put food on the table.
This poll which even they admitted was not accurate is good news for the Repubs who are energized far more than Dims. What have they got to run on, ICE and keeping illegal invaders in Oregon? How does this possibly help Oregon in any way? There are already enough Latinxs to mow the lawns and raise rich liberal brats, so why does Oregon need a half a million more? To steal the election is why.
Money is not going to be as big a factor this election as digital ads are not nearly as effective as they once were. People have tuned out and with Trump pounding the economic drum he will take all of the oxygen out of the state. Tiny Kotax is every virtue cliché under the sun and the definition of DEI hiring.
The Repub is going to have to defeat Climate Change and argue to open the forests back up for more employment and less taxes. Forests4Oregon’s argument of selling or homesteading Oregon’s land plays directly at the affordability issue. Low cost or free land to build homes can lower the cost of a house by a third or half and proper management of Oregon’s unlimited resources can get that 10% and more.
This poll if it were about Trump would be framed as terrible news. Of course, the Portland Fish Wrap has to do its usual boot licking and claims 43-45% of highly cooked numbers is her/his path to victory. Even they know you can only fabricate 3% so she continues to be underwater going into a very fired up Repub Party with no charisma or leadership skills and only hate as a motivator. Tiny Kotax will have to find a real job for her wife next year.
