Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.
Once again, the Oregon GOP appears to have turned a loss out of the hands of victory. Unless they have a super-secret agreement to stop the date change of the Kotax Gas Tax bill they are going to gamble on the courts forcing the bill to November. Bruce Starr and the rest of the Sinators only needed to walk out until Wednesday and the bill runs out of time but they let it pass and go to the House who have to pass it by Wednesday to get it on the ballot by May.
Perhaps there are not enough votes in the House but knowing the Communists and their ability to march in lockstep, this appears to be a loss. It is easy to be an armchair QB and predict the worst case, but after forty years of losses and finally seeing a victory, it is hard to see the Dims allowing this to go down. The last thing they can afford is 250,000 motivated voters showing up on election day.
Let’s face it, the Washington Generals have a better winning record than the Oregon GOP over the last forty years. This is why you throw the kitchen sink at the bill and make this a victory no matter what. This is like the coach in a playoff who saves his best pitcher for the second or third game rather than the first since you know expect to win the first round against a lesser team and then lose.
It would be one thing if you had a long string of victories and you can afford a loss, but you don’t and you need to throw the kitchen sink at this one. This petition was the first victory the Party has had since Tigard stopped Light Rail nearly twenty years ago and you risk losing it by passing up a sure thing. Hopefully, Bruce and Christine know what they were doing by letting the Dims pass this to the House.
Apparently, the House did a short walkout today on a couple of bills, so they could be going to bolt on this one too? Perhaps Ed Diehl can lead a walkout in the House and stop it there? Nobody knows what is happening on the outside since the leaders are playing their cards close to their vests. The bottom line is stop it now and give those 250,000+ voters a chance to be heard in November and turn this state Red. You cannot count on the courts anymore.
It is time to show the Washington Generals how to win.
Pray for Oregon’s Revival
