The Forest Service crisis which was revealed last week like all gummit caused crisis’ is multiple times worse. The Oregon Forest Service which originally claimed was a horrible $60 million is actually around $250 million or a quarter of a billion dollars of unpaid forest fire fighting costs. How about you have your puppet masters in the Sierra Club pay the money.
This is a crisis of their own making by making the forests massive tinder boxes waiting for a spark to ignite an inferno far worse than they were before the Sierra Club forced them to mismanage these forests. After decades of proper management with minimal numbers of forest fires which were put out quickly thanks to built in fire breaks and clear cutting to refurbish the lands and bring open spaces into the rain forests where deer and wildlife can feed and thrive, the forests were never healthier. They used actual science to maximize the health of these trees eliminating the sixty thousand square miles of hazard.
Growing trees should be the perfect industry if you think about it. You are simply planting trees and thinning them every five years and then fifty years later you have a crop of the most perfect material to build houses and buildings with. Your byproducts are cleaner air and water with an abundance of wildlife creating a healthier environment. What industry is cleaner and more environmentally friendly than the forest industry? None.
This was not good enough for the Sierra Club and their Communist leaders. They have a single purpose which is stopping every industry which strengthens America no matter how perfect it is for the environment. They with the assistance of the Communist Party passed the endangered species act to close down the forest industry and most every other American strategic industry such as oil, coal, automobile, and on and on.
The Sierra Club’s byproducts is higher prices for consumers and large paychecks for gummit subsidized Sierra Club lawyers. What do you need when you have a hundred lawyers up to their necks in sand? More sand.
The forest industry provided billions of dollars per year in timber revenues to the State of Oregon through the Forest Service. This paid the entire bill for schools and roads including the universities. It was the largest industry in Oregon by a large margin and provided tens of thousands of good paying jobs for families across the state. It also provided abundant lumber products keeping housing prices affordable as well as lowering real estate taxes for schools and infrastructure such as the bridge across the Columbia.
Now you have the perfect storm in the Forest Service which closed the forest industry in Oregon at the demands of the Sierra Club. You not only have absolute forest mismanagement and dying forests, but you have no revenues to manage the forests or pay to fight the ever-growing forest fires. You could not invent a more perfect way to kill the forests in Oregon and they are while the taxpayers are being forced to come up with billions of more tax-dollars to satisfy the Sierra Club.
The state really has two options, reopen the forests to the forest industry or sell their ten-thousand square miles of land to private citizens. These are really the only two practical answers and especially since Nike and Intel are having market problems lowering their tax revenues to the state coffers.
Of course, like all Communist dictatorships they will take the turd option which is increase taxes to the citizens and squeeze more blood for them while they sit on the richest resources in the world which would provide more than enough revenue to pay for all their Socialist ideas.
