KOIN GOP Debate 5/5/2026

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Why do Repubs continue to agree to these DNC debates to get their message out when you know there will be no Republican questions? It was the same old questions; Do you hate Trump as much as we do?  Are you a vote denier? Why do you hate women’s right to abortion? How bad are you going to cut schools and hospitals? How are you going to help millionaires and billionaires?

When you are campaigning in Oregon you have no choice but to answer questions in the belly of the beast. The two moderators looked like the Affirmative Action Barbie and Ken dolls working as puppets for the Oregon Communist Party.

There was not a single question about the forests or lumber industry let alone something resembling Forests 4 Oregon issues. You have the largest forests in the country and certainly Oregon’s main resource and not a single reference. Unfortunately, none of these candidates brought this massive issue up and spoke about the usual boring Repub talking points of taxes, taxes, taxes, and a bunch of legislative numbers nobody heard of outside of the Marble Wedding Cake.

Again, it was won by the two men with Christine sounding like a broken record speaking about one bill after another although she did say she would take an endorsement from Trump as did the rest. Dudley was the most accepting of Trump’s endorsement and mentioned making Oregon Great Again numerous times. Ed was very smart on the question and named a few things he agreed with Trump and a couple he disagreed.

This question should have been broken into a number of deeper issues such as gas prices going sky high, the climate fraud, and overregulation of businesses but this was a DNC controlled debate. One of the most useless questions was would you lead a walkout if congress stayed in Dim hands. They all reminded the moderators they would have the power of the veto so there would not be a need for a walkout.

This was a pretty boring debate due to the moderators reigning in the discussions to minimize the damage to Tiny Kotax. Not a single question about her or her overtaxing let alone her dictatorial path of getting the Gas Tax through the house and holding it up so Ed Diehl could not get his petition through the Secretary of State quickly. At one point the moderator debated Christine on vote-by-mail which was extremely biased.

It was a tough one to call and Christine Drazen did much better although still over managed with very scripted answers but held her own to the men. Is Oregon ready for a third woman Governor in a row? Dudley also did very well and explained his ability to bring people from all stripes but Ed edged him out with his answers on cutting the budget by 10%, naming things he agreed with Trump on, and his explanation of the new No Tax bill.

He could have hit the No Tax bills even harder and brought in the forest jobs lost in the last ten years but he was the most authentic of them all. It really came down to him and Dudley fighting it out with the women talking about schools, abortion, and healthcare which is what the moderators wanted. Dudley’s term business adversarial was a great term which Oregon is.

The Washington County debate was much better with more substance for Conservatives. The moderators were not very good and had very boring questions which did not allow anything outside of the usual DNC social issues they have run on in the last 40 years. They were in full gotcha attack mode and never let off throughout the debate which the candidates handled well but were not able to go in depth to the real issues in the state.

They will all beat Tiny Kotax since Oregon is ripe for change after the last ten years of watching Portland turn from a Rose Garden to a Homeless Shelter nobody wants to visit or live. They were all very good and have a charm Oregonians are going to love.

Pray for Oregon
