This is the original outline of what Forests 4 Oregon is 8 years ago and every campaign needs to use these tactics to win their elections:

We need to change the discussion

Current debate is how liberal we can become

We are a copy of the national debate

Hug the trees

Recycle

Mother earth

Homosexual marriage

Marijuana

Oregon is not like the rest of the nation

Once you leave Portland the attitude changes

More independent

More Conservatives mixed in

Love the outdoors

Fishing

Hunting

Skiing

Camping

Biking etc

Our group changed the dynamic of transportation in Portland

We passed three petitions to give people a vote on Light Rail

All three were submitted and passed

Now there is a roadblock across the 99W corridor that the tracks cannot be laid

This is the most important spur of this wheel and has stopped Light Rail in Portland

We have become experts in petitions and election campaigns

We can tap into that independence

Forests for Oregon

53% of the state is owned by the Federal Government

Around 75% of the forests

They are poorly managed

No way to manage from 3500 miles way

Washington DC has no interest in our forests

Forests become a political toy to make public stands with

Environmental groups

Rural communities suffer

Local management is more effective

Local management is more profitable to the locality

The local people and foresters have more knowledge of what is going on

Break into the spiritual battle

Forest worship began in the Early 70s in Oregon/California and has grown across the country

Early tactics were tree hugging and saving the whales

These became missions for early liberals and was repeated over and over

DDT, Acid Rain, Ozone hole, Global Warming

People became cult followers to be manipulated by Democrats

A good cult member always votes for Democrats and against Republicans

We are going to start our new message

Forest and resource stewardship

Appeal to Oregonian pride

Give independents and Oregonians a voice in their future

Just like Light Rail it will appeal to everyone except the most radical 25-30%

Free people from the cult worship and the emptiness that comes with it

Mechanics of Forests for Oregon campaign

Petition to turn Federal land over to the state

Target politics

Identify and focus on the most likely signers

Use the Get Out the Vote System we developed during our Light Rail Petitions

Use paid petitioners

Using our program door to door will maximize quality signatures

Coordinate with friendly groups such as churches, Tea Party, Republican groups in Washington/Clackamas

Internet petitioning

Ballot measure

Targeted GOTV

Ignore media

Signage

Use our system

Word of mouth through talk radio and signs

Door knocking and getting those votes out of Washington County and Clackamas

Future Outlook

Discussion will dominate political climate in Oregon

Primary discussion will be who controls the forests and resources

Oregonians who were afraid to question environmental worship will have a platform

This is a discussion that has been needed for decades

Oregonians can say they want control and paint environmentalists into a corner

Very Winnable ballot measure

This one is easier to win than Light Rail and will get 60% yes votes

Our system is very difficult to defeat

We know how to win elections in Oregon

Will unify various groups and coordinate the state

Christians will turn out in force

Churches can have a voice without endorsing a political Party

Non-partisan measure

Free people from the cult by breaking it up

Shine the truth on it

Give people a choice between stewardship and Earth worship
