Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

After interviewing Danielle Bethell, it was obvious she is a strong contender with a wide range of knowledge as well as a great network of churches and groups she has worked with in the past. She is very strong on forest management and development having family and directly involved with the Oregon forestry bill.

One of the things she brought up is the bill Oregon passed is not ratified by the Federal Gummit so it is not actually in power. This means she could push to have the bill not be ratified and pull it from the state enforcement. She said from day one she would work to reestablish the timber industry and put lumber workers and loggers back to work.

She is aware of President Trump’s plan to free some of the federal land for development and said she was going to the District of Corruption in a few weeks to talk about that. She said she was going to meet some powerful forestry and resource people and learn about some of Trump’s ideas and plans concerning Oregon.

She is a Marion county commissioner and has been directly affected by closing down the forests in her county causing financial disruption with the county budgets. She spoke of working with churches to bring their volunteers to help with food and clothing distribution which is more effective than using county workers.

When asking about being vilified about abortion she said she could talk to the people of what it is like to have an abortion. She spoke of the pain and trials she had to go through to get over the trauma of an abortion. She brought in what it was like living in a situation without a stable family and being raised by random people to address the issue of girls facing the pregnancy issue and being pushed into abortions by society.

Her main issues are first the polarization of politics. She said there were too many people shooting arrows at each other rather than working together. No, she had not read the Daily Bray. She spoke of how there was no compromise with people in Salem on issues like Climate Change. She said someone needs to deliver the message on this issue and she thought she could be this person.

She said the economy of Oregon needs to be a main issue for this Governor. She spoke of how the different counties in the state are all different having different needs from the state. She spoke of the size and different geography making it both complicated but rich in resources.

Her other big issue is behavioral and mental health in Oregon needs to be addressed. Issues like drug addiction and homelessness have to be dealt with rather than being swept under the rug like today.

She used to be on the Salem Kaizer school board which makes education a big piece of her campaign. She talked about the need to bring some of the more radical school boards under control and go back to teaching kids real learning.

She is a very knowledgeable woman on all the main issues of Oregon and especially rural and forests. She obviously wants to bring back the lumber industry as well as farming and ranching which have been devastated over the last forty years. She is a very strong and articulate candidate who will be a tough debater against someone like Tiny Kotax.

Pray for Oregon
