And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Now is the time to get the ballots in to win your elections. No meeting or fundraiser is going to substitute going out to your friends and neighbors to remind them to get their ballots in the drop box. Since most elections are won by five hundred to a thousand votes whoever keeps the most votes out of the garbage will be the winner.
It may not be glamorous or exciting but the door to door is still the way elections are really won and Getting Out The Vote is essential. You will be lucky to have forty percent voting so every vote is magnified exponentially compared to the November vote. As hard as it seems it is really one of the most rewarding parts of elections, meeting and talking politics with your neighbors.
There are a couple of keys to get people to answer the door. Wear something casual so they don’t think you are selling something. With the petition you can take one of the popular bills with you to give people a chance to sign and as you speak remind them to vote and who for. Bring a list of recommended candidates with you to make the ballot simple to copy and send for the voter.
You get a couple hundred in the ballot box and have them tell their friends to vote and you will win. If you want your candidate to win you need to get everyone in your neighborhood to vote and get it in a soon as possible. It is a good chance to scope out neighborhoods for the November election.
Do not be afraid to knock doors in apartment complexes since young people are the fastest growing opportunity for Repubs. They are generally sick and tired of the lies they have had told to them for the past twenty years and receptive to conservatism. They also do not get their doors knocked very often and are anxious to talk to someone to pass the time. Past experience has shown they are more receptive than neighborhoods and easier to walk since they are so close together.
Now is the time to make a difference to change Oregon. One or two people can make a change and this is your chance to multiply your efforts. Tell everyone you know to vote and take some time to knock some doors and be creative. Even if it is two or three houses it is doubling or tripling your vote. Time to flip Oregon.
Pray for the Candidates
